Premier Thabang Makwetla will address the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) sitting,dubbed ‘Taking Parliament to the People', to be held at KwaMhlanga Legislative Assembly, Mpumalanga.

Mpumalanga Provincial Government gearing up to accelerate Service Delivery

The Executive Council was briefed on progress made pertaining to the elimination of the bucket toilets at Lekwa, uMjindi, Msukaligwa and Albert Luthuli Municipalities. After the completion of this project, residents in these areas can rejoice and celebrate for this change that they patiently waited for, for so many years.

MPUMALANGA AHEAD OF EPWP JOB CREATION TARGET

Mpumalanga's Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) has surged ahead of the provincial target of 10 000 jobs in the 2004/2005 financial year.

By the end of February 2005, the province had already provided 10 725 job opportunities. It is expected that another 2 000 jobs will be created before the end of March 2005.

FIRST HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM ACADEMY FOR MPUMALANGA

Premier Thabang Makwetla and Education MEC Siphosezwe Masango officially opened the Provincial Hospitality and Tourism Academy outside at Tekwane South, Nelspruit on Tuesday, 15 March 2005.

OVER R600 000 TO UNLOCK HERITAGE ECONOMIC POTENTIAL

(09 March 2005)

The National Heritage Council and the Mpumalanga provincial government delegation led by Premier Thabang Makwetla entered into an agreement of cooperation to re-define the heritage of Mpumalanga Province and its contribution to economic development.

Prof. Peter Delius, a historian from Wits University, will lead a study that is aimed at documenting the story of Mpumalanga and its historic contribution to the emergence of the new South Africa.
