with World Cup

If ever there were any doubts about
Mpumalanga's hosting and organizing abilities, the 2010 FIFA
World Cup dispelled them.
The province pulled all the stops to ensure that all World
Cup-related activities were a roaring success. The four
first-round matches that were played at the beautiful Mbombela
Stadium went smoothly with locals coming out in large
numbers to support the teams.

Young people come in large numbers to celebrate Youth
Day
THULAMAHASHE – Thousands of young people packed
the local stadium during the National Youth Day celebration that
was addressed by the President of the Republic, Mr Jacob Zuma.
The youth came from all corners of Mpumalanga and they gave
President Zuma and his entourage that included Mpumalanga
Premier, Mr DD Mabuza and MEC for Culture, Sport and Recreation,
Mr Vusi Shongwe a warm welcome when they entered the stadium.

A colourful Afrika Day celebration in Mpumalanga
MATSULU
– Mpumalanga celebrated Afrika Day in style on 25 May when
thousands of people gathered at the local stadium dressed in
their colourful African attires.
The celebration was dominated by cultural exchanges by groups
from the province and neighboring countries. With the World Cup
around the corner, people were also taught how to do the Diski
Dance so that they could feel the vibe.
