Acting Head Education: Mrs Lucy Moyane



As the Deputy Director General : Curriculum, Mrs Moyane is responsible for ensuring the provisioning of general and further education and training programmes and systems for general education and training, including Early Childhood Development and Adult Basic Education and Training. 

She also oversees the development, evaluation and maintenance of policy programmes and systems for Further Education and Training. 

Mrs Moyane is experienced in education management as she joined the National Department of Education in 1996 as Chief Education Specialist responsible for languages. 

In October 2000, she became Acting Director: School Education and in 2004 further went on to be appointed Director: School Education Mrs Moyane has been Chief Director: Curriculum and Assessment development at the National Department of Education PRIOR TO HER APPOINTMENT AS Deputy Director general: Curriculum in Mpumalanga Department of Education. Mrs Moyame trained as a teacher and specialized in the teaching of African languages (Setswana), Biology and Geography. 

She taught Setswana and Geography at secondary school level for six (6) years; lectured Setswana at the Daveyton College of education for (5) years; and also lectured Setswana at the University of Pretoria for one (1) year. She holds a Secondary Teachers Diploma (Transvaal College of Education),BA (UNISA), Diploma in Special Education (UNISA), BA (Hon) Cum Laude (RAU) and MA African Languages (RAU).
