The Mpumalanga Department of Education encourages
parents to start registering their children for 2008
at various public schools before 31 October 2008.
Parents are advised to present the following
documents upon registration:
- The school application forms
- Certified copy of the birth certificate
- Complete immunization card
- Transfer card and the last report if a
learner will be moving from one school to
another.
Should a parent experience a challenge to
register a child, they should insist on a
written letter from the school principal that
gives reason why the school could not register
the learner.
In terms of the South African Schools Act, no
learners should be excluded from admission due
to failure by the parents to pay school fees.
Prospective Adult Basic Education and Training
(ABET) learners are also requested to contact
the various ABET centres regarding registration
and operation times.
