Advert for establishment of Hospital boards

The MEC For Health and Social Services in Mpumalanga, invites nominations for membership of Hospital boards in 27 Mpumalanga public hospitals as per the stipulations of section 41 (6) of the National Health Act, Act 61 of 2003.

List of hospitals where boards are to be established:

Ehlanzeni District

Tonga hospital; Tintswalo hospital; Themba Hospital; Sabie Hospital; Matikwane Hospital; Matibidi Hospital; Mapulaneng Hospital; Lydenburg Hospital; Bongani TB Specialized and Barberton TB Specialized Themba.

Gert Sibande District

Amajuba Hospital; Bethal Hospital; Carolina Hospital; Elsie Ballot Hospital; Embhuleni Hospital; Ermelo Hospital; Standerton Hospital and Standerton TB Specialized.

Nkangala District

Belfast Hospital; Bernice Samuel (Delmas) Hospital; Impungwe Hospital; Kwamhlanga Hospital; Mmametlhake Hospital; Middelburg Hospital; Waterval Boven Hospital; Witbank Hospital and Witbank TB Specialized.

Requirements for Applicants:

Must represent the communities served by the hospital
Must be older than 18 years
A person who have not been certified by a court of law as being of unsound mind
A person who have not previously been convicted of a crime without an option of a fine, unless; they have received pardon, or a period of 10 years has expired since release from prison and certified as full rehabilitated by the Departmentof Correctional Services.
Applicants must have expertise in one of the follwing areas;
- Accounting
- Financial Management
- Human Resource Management
- Information Management
- Legal matters

Applicants from the following Universities that are associated with the Department are welcomed to apply; University of Witwatersrand; University of Limpopo; University of Pretoria.

Appointments to the Board will be on the part time basis. Term of office is three (3) years. All members will be required to attend Orientation training session.

Applicants must quote reference number (DHSS/August/08) and the hospital under which they wish to serve as board members. A full CV or any supporting motivation from relevant organizations including names and contact details of three references must be submitted.
