About

Mpumalanga ICT Indaba 2015

ICT Indaba 2015

The Mpumalanga Province will use the ICT Summit as a platform to engage relevant stakeholders in crafting the roadmap towards a Connected Mpumalanga Government.

This forms part of its Vision 2030, whereby the Province will deliberately use technology as a catalyst to:

  • Accelerate Socio-economic Development and Reduction of Poverty;
  • Promote Skills Development and Job Creation;
  • Increase Public Trust and Citizen Satisfaction through improved interaction with Government Services; and
  • Improve Compliance and Accountability with Regulatory Requirements.

Indaba Tagline

"Connect . Collaborate . Grow"

Connect – talks to the need to create ubiquitous connectivity to every household, Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs), communities, government institutions (schools, clinics, etc.) and citizens across Mpumalanga. This will, amongst other things, lower the cost of doing business for vital economic players such as SMMEs and increase economic participation by the broader society. In the long run, this will contribute towards reshaping the Provincial economy to be more inclusive and broad-based by opening up new opportunities for the marginalised communities.

Collaborate – talks to the integration of Government entities and the need to collaborate and share common ICT investments, which after all, are paid for from a common public purse. Also talks to the need to collaborate with the private sector.

Grow – directly addresses the need for using ICT as lever for driving the radical socio-economic growth agenda of the Province.
