To provide a coordination framework for the effective implementation of the gender programme at all levels of government
To formulate policy and undertake research on gender issues

To develop key indicators for measuring the provincial progress towards gender equality
To facilitate awareness-raising and confidence-building among women
To consult and liaise with civil society and Legislature
