PREMIER MABUZA TO HAND OVER SCHOOL UNIFORM, LAPTOPS, SOCCER AND NETBALL KITS AT HOME VILLAGE SCHOOLS

Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza will tomorrow honour his commitment to give three schools from his home village of Phola near Hazyview the uniforms, laptops and soccer kits.

The Premier made the commitment during his 54th birthday celebration late last month in front of a 6000 strong crowd at Mdzimba Primary School in Phola where he first studied as a young boy.

During the birthday celebration, the Premier successfully launched a DD Mabuza Foundation, which on the day managed to raise more than R50 million from the pledges. The DD Mabuza Foundation focuses mainly on providing financial support for education, look at the affairs of the elderly people, further deals with matters relevant to health, youth development, environment and sports.

Teachers from Mdzimba Primary School, Bambanani Primary School and Phola Secondary School will share 70 laptops, which they would use in their day-to-day work at the schools. The three schools will further share both soccer and netball kits for their learners whilst more than 600 school uniforms will be shared between Mdzimba and Bambanani primary schools respectively.
