MINERAL RESOURCES DEPUTY MINISTER, GODFREY OLIPHANT TO ADDRESS EX-MINEWORKERS IN NELSPRUIT, MPUMALANGA

The Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources, Mr Godfrey Oliphant will on Saturday, 13 June 2015 address ex-mineworkers in Ehlanzeni Region, Nkomazi district municipality, Mpumalanga.

Social challenges faced by the former mineworkers include the lack of sufficient information about provident funds, UIF, Compensation and development imperatives which need to be addressed by government and relevant mining companies.

The Deputy Minister will also talk about the building of One Stop Shop service for Ex-mineworkers which will focus on providing social service to ex-mineworkers.

The following government departments are expected to attend the meeting, the Department of Labour, Department of Health and Mpumalanga provincial government.

Members of the media are invited to attend two meetings which will be as follows:
