Mpumalanga celebrates International Women's Day

Mbombela- the Province of Mpumalanga will join the United Nations and the world countries in celebrating the International Women’s Day at Emalahleni Local Municipality on 8 March.

This year’s theme for the International Women’s Day focuses on “Women in the changing world of work: Planet 50-50 by 2030”. The aim is to achieve gender equality in the world of work for both men and women by 2030.

In this regard, Mpumalanga will observe the day by empowering women and girls around Emalahleni, as part of implementing the UN’S new sustainable Development goals.

The event will be divided into two (2) parts, with the first part which will see young women from Alex Mampane Primary School and Coronation High School will benefitting from the sanitary dignity campaign.

The second part will be in a form of empowerment programme.
