Mpumalanga Premier to deliver keynote address at the Mpumalanga Provincial Women’s Day commemoration in Steve Tshwete Local Municipality

Fighting gender-based violence and promoting women empowerment as stated by Mpumalanga Premier in her SOPA remains high on the agenda when the Mpumalanga Provincial Government commemorates Women’s Day on Monday, 9 August 2021 in Middelburg at 10:00.

This year’s Women’s Month is celebrated under the theme: “The Year of Charlotte Mannya Maxeke: RealisingWomen’s Rights.” Government will use this year’s Women’s Day Celebrations to fight women abuse and also highlight the progress it has made in promoting women issues in the country (the event will provide a platform to women in business, social activism and social entrepreneurship to share their testimonials on women empowerment). The Province’s first women Premier Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane will deliver the keynote address on the day.

Phumla Music, Zanele Nenkwenkwezi and Sharon Lindokuhle Mahlangu will provide entertainment.

All Covid-19 health and safety protocols will be adhered to.
