Provincial Government to host 3rd Vooma Vaccination Weekend Campaign

It is all systems go as the Mpumalanga Provincial Government is preparing for the 3rd Vooma Vaccination Weekend Campaign. The campaign starts from Friday, 12 – to Sunday 14 November 2021 and seeks to mobilize citizens to vaccinate against COVID-19 infection in anticipation of the seventy percent herd immunity targeted by the end of December 2021.

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane appeals to communities including traditional leaders, faith-based organizations, labour, business and civil society to support the campaign, to ramp-up vaccinations in the province ahead of the festive season. “Let us increase the uptake by vaccinating in order to protect ourselves, our families and our communities before the possible fourth wave of COVID-19 infections,” the Premier said.

The Mpumalanga province has just reached the 1 million mark of vaccinated people and the number is expected to increase in light of the Vooma vaccination campaign, with 325 vaccination sites to be opened throughout the province during the weekend.

The Provincial government leadership accompanied by the National leadership and Executive Mayors, personalities and the clergy will visit designated areas, to monitor and encourage communities to vaccinate.
