Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane to hand-over Tekwane South bridge

05 July 2022

The reconstruction of the Tekwane South bridge is now complete and ready to use. The bridge was severely damaged by heavy rains last year, leaving road users, travelling between Kanyamazane, Tekwane South, Entokozweni to Mbombela, in the City of Mbombela Municipality stranded. Road users had to use alternative roads during the reconstruction phase.

The project was completed at the end of June 2022, with thirty two (32) job opportunities, created for the local community. Plans are afoot for the Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, to hand it over to the affected communities, to mark its official opening on Thursday. This after the engineers and infrastructure experts certified the bridge as complete and ready to use.

Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane will be accompanied by MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport (PWR&T), Ms Mohita Latchminarain, MECs, Executive Mayors, Councillors and Senior Managers of the Provincial Government during the function to hand it over officially.

Details of the function are as follows:

Date: Thursday, 07 July 2022
