Mpumalanga Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane to address Women's Day celebration in Balfour

Plans to celebrate the Provincial Women's Day are at an advanced stage. The Mpumalanga Provincial Government will host the annual function in Dipaleseng Local Municipality, Gert Sibande District.

This year's function comes at the time when the Provincial Government intensifies measures to revitalize the economy, through trade and investment initiatives, while preparing for a Provincial Economic Summit, to be held later this month. By stimulating the economy, the Government hopes to cushion women against the grinding effects of poverty and unemployment.

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane will deliver the key note address, to elaborate among others, on economic revitalization initiatives and measures to intensify the fight.against the high prevalent cases of Gender Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) in the province.

The theme for this year is: 'Women's Socio-Economic Rights and Empowerment: Building Back Better for Women's improved resilience'.
