MEC Shiba of DARDLEA to be sworn-in as Acting Premier

MEC for Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs, Ms Busi Shiba will be sworn-in to act as Premier. She has been appointed to act in the position by the Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane with effect from the 16th to the 24th of November 2022.

The appointment of MEC Shiba is in accordance with section 131 (1) (a) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane is leading a delegation on an outbound mission, to the Russian Federation. The delegation, which include the Director-General in the Office of the Premier, Mr Makhukhu Mampuru and Head of Education, Ms Lucy Moyane, will meet the South African students from Mpumalanga, in an attempt to address their challenges in Russia.

Judge President of the Mpumalanga Division of the High Court, Justice Francis Legodi, will officiate the oath-taking ceremony.
