Mpumalanga Provincial Government to host Energy Summit

Mpumalanga Provincial Government will hold a two-day Energy Summit aimed at positioning the province as the main point of focus for green economy activities in the country.

The purpose for the summit is to provide opportunities and processes, act as a conduit for providing feeding to the Mpumalanga Provincial Government on green economy issues. It is further intended at creating pathways for a just transition, build provincial consensus on green economy path as an innovative way towards sustainable consumption and production patterns.

The summit will help create an ecosystem supportive of the green economy to facilitate the creation of new job opportunities and accelerate growth. It will provide a multi-stakeholder platform, panel discussions and breakaways to discuss and agree on key interventions along the relevant sector value chains to drive accelerated economic growth and job creation in Mpumalanga.

The apex conference will be physical and virtual through a webinar and is expected to be attended by delegates and speakers representing all spheres of government, private sector, and relevant academic organisations.

The Premier of the Province Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane will host the panel of expect speakers who would be coming across relevant green economic sectors focusing on energy transition.
