Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane to attend the Provincial Taxi Indaba

05 June 2023

The taxi industry is a key component of the lives of communities in Mpumalanga. Its vital role is evident in the daily transportation of the communities across the length and breath of the Province, thereby ensuring that each one arrives at their destination of choice conveniently.

The industry contributes significantly to the Provincial economy, through the transportation of communities employed in the formal and informal employment sectors.

The Mpumalanga Provincial Government will host a Provincial Taxi Indaba which seeks to find long-lasting solutions on, among others, the taxi disputes and the economic sustainability of the taxi industry in the Province. Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport (DPWR&T), Mr Mandla Ndlovu and different stakeholders including the taxi associations, will attend the two-day indaba.

The indaba is scheduled as follows:

Date: 06–07 June 2023 (Tuesday & Wednesday)
