Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane to handover firefighting vehicles to municipalities

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane will tomorrow hand over disaster management vehicles to several fire-prone Municipalities in Mpumalanga. The fully equipped Double Cab Rapid Response firefighting vehicles will be handed over to five Municipalities, namely: Lekwa, Nkomazi, Chief Albert Luthuli, Dipaleseng and Thaba Chweu.

Mpumalanga is prone to veld fires, with the potential to endanger human lives as well as natural vegetation. The fire-fighting vehicles will improve the capacity of the Municipalities to save lives through rapid response. MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Mr Mandla Msibi and the Executive Mayors representing the Municipalities, are among the dignitaries scheduled to attend the hand over function.
