Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane to visit Sibusisiwe Secondary School in Matsulu

As part of the last push for matric examinations, Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni- Tsipane will on Thursday, 26 October 2023, undertake a support visit to Sibusisiwe Secondary School in Matsulu, in Nkululeko Circuit in the City of Mbombela Local Municipality.

With only four (04) days left before the writing of the 2023 National Senior Certificate Examinations begin in full scale, the Premier will encourage the 260 grade 12 learners to use the remaining days fruitfully and to focus more on their studies.

Sibusisiwe Secondary School is one of the best performing schools in the Province. In 2019 the school registered a pass rate of 81.5%, obtained 82.9% in 2020, achieved 80.4 % in 2021, and a pass rate of 79.9% in the 2022 National Senior Certificate Examination results.

There are 68 681 full time candidates in total in the Province, registered to write the National Senior Certificate Examination, which will commence on 30 October 2023 in full scale. The Department envisages an improvement of the pass rate in the 2023 examinations.

Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane will be accompanied by the MEC for Education, Mr Bonakele Majuba during the visit.
