Premier Ndlovu to address the Mpumalanga Business Connect
05 March 2025The Mpumalanga Premier, Mr Mandla Ndlovu is set to address the Mpumalanga Business Connect session aimed at strengthening a public/private partnership between the Provincial Government and the business sector in eMalahleni.
Various big businesses are expected to outline investment opportunities as well as challenges impacting their operations. This will be the latest engagement the Provincial Government and the business sector, to be addressed by Premier Ndlovu, in pursuit of the key priorities of the 7th administration. These include the banking sector, Telecommunication companies and recently, the South African Sugar Association (SASA).
The Business Connect session is significant in pursuit of Premier Ndlovu’s aspirations outlined in his first State of the Province Address (SOPA) last Friday in the Legislature. In his address, the Premier stated that the Medium-Term Development Plan (MDTP) of the 7th Administration emphasises the three key priorities of driving inclusive growth and job creation, reducing poverty and tackling high cost of living, and building a capable, ethical and developmental state.
He added that whilst these three strategic priorities are interrelated and interlinked, driving inclusive growth and job creation is viewed as a top priority, to reduce the high unemployment rate, currently at 34.7 percent and the high rate of poverty, of above 50 percent. He said the Mpumalanga Province is on a quest to create more job opportunities despite current uncertainties.
The Mpumalanga Business Connect will afford both the Premier and the business sector the opportunity to share information on building the economy by developing interventions, aimed at increasing prosperity for the province.
Members of the Executive Council (MECs), Executive Mayors and business representatives, are amongst those invited to attend the session. The Mpumalanga Business Connect is scheduled as follows:
