Mpumalanga Health MEC sworn-in as Acting Premier
20 May 2023Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane has appointed Health MEC, Ms Sasekani Manzini to act in the position with effect from 21 until 28 May 2023.
The appointment of Ms Manzini is in accordance with section 131 (1) (a) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa as Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane will be out of the country attending the IMEX Tourism Expo in Frankfurt, Germany.
IMEX Expo is one of the most prestigious gatherings of the leaders and critical decision makers in the tourism value chain, attended by more than 9000 carefully selected international buyers from 70 countries in a series of pre-scheduled appointments with suppliers from all over the world.
This is part of the efforts to position Mpumalanga Province as a business and leisure tourism destination of choice.
Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane will lead a delegation comprising of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism MEC, Ms Mpumi Hlophe, the Acting Head of Department, Mr Cain Chunda, the Chairperson and the Acting CEO of the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency Mr Hekzin Vilakazi and Mr Victor Mashego respectively.
The swearing-in ceremony was administered by Judge President Francis Legodi of the Mpumalanga Division of the High Court.
