Premier Ndlovu says investigation in the acquisition of laptops is to be finalized soon

22 April 2025

The Mpumalanga Premier, Mr Mandla Ndlovu says the investigation on the matter pertaining the acquisition of laptops by the Department of Education, is at an advanced stage. This after his announcement during an oral reply session at the Provincial Legislature, that an investigation will be instituted into this matter.

The investigation seeks to gather facts, supporting evidence and verify any information or documentation at their disposal, in light of applicable legislation.

Premier Ndlovu says the 7th administration is guided by the principles of good governance to ensure that the acquisition of services by the state is based on sound financial grounds.

He says the decision is testament to the commitment of the 7th administration to the priorities, as set out in the Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP), one of which is the building of a capable, ethical and developmental state.

The Premier has noted public interest on the matter, and therefore transparency will be applied in dealing with the investigation and its outcome. “Because of the seriousness of this issue, once the investigation is finalised next week, we will inform the public. In the interest of fair administrative justice, I urge you all to allow the investigation to be finalized without undue pressure,” Mr Ndlovu asserted.
