PREMIER THABANG MAKWETLA'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO THE TAMBO FAMILY

On behalf of the government and people of Mpumalanga province I would like to express our deepest and sincere condolences to the Tambo Family on the passing on of our mother Mme Adelaide Tshukudu Tambo. She was a mother, wife, grandmother and a loving comrade who stood the test of time through many turbulent decades of dedicated and selfless struggle for the emancipation of the people of South Africa .

She will always be remembered for her motherly love to all of us particularly in times of need. Most will remember her as the lifetime companion and partner of Oliver Tambo the former President of the ANC, but Mme Tambo was a freedom fighter par excellence in her own right hence they met in an ANC meeting.

Her unrelenting contribution to the struggle continued after the 1994 elections when she became one of the first members of parliament of a free and democratic South Africa . She served her country with dignity and reverence until she retired from parliamentary politics and dedicated most of her life to the social needs of comrades.

Tsamaya ka kgotso mme. Hamba kahle qawe lama qawe
