Member of Executive Council: Mr Sibusiso Malaza

MEC MhauleMEC Sibusiso Malaza was born in Carolina, grew up in Elukwatini and attended his primary and secondary schooling in Sunduza Combined School in Badplaas.

He is passionate about equipping one’s mind through studying and reading holds a Post graduate Diploma in Management (Governance and Leadership) from Wits University, a Post graduate Diploma in Public Management and a Certificate in Public Management both from Regenesys School of Public Management.

He also graduated with a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Governance and Public Leadership also from Wits University , and holds an Advanced Management Development Program Certificate and an Applied Computer Literacy and Management both from the University of Pretoria, and certificate in General Nursing Care from the South African Nursing Council.

He started his career in the Health Sector at the Carolina District Hospital. In 2004 he was appointed Senior Administrative Officer in Ermelo Hospital.

In 2011 he was appointed Deputy Director Corporate Services still at Ermelo Hospital. In 2014 proceeded to work as a Deputy Director; Corporate Service at the hospital.

After the 2014 National General Elections he was deployed member of the Mpumalanga Provincial legislature and was subsequently appointed Chairperson of the Select Committee for Public Accounts (SCOPA). He served on various leadership structures in the Province and as the Member of the National Executive of the Association for Public Accounts (APAC).

He is a member of the Member of the G200 for International Association for Young Parliamentarian. He is still serves as Branch Chairperson of the ANC AB Jina Branch.

He served as Regional Deputy Chairperson of National Education Health and Allied Workers Union in the Gert Sibande between 2003 and 2005.

He also served as a Provincial Deputy Chairperson of NEHAWU in Mpumalanga and elected Provincial Chairperson of NEHAWU in Mpumalanga in 2011 to 2014.

In 2010 he was elected Provincial Deputy Chairperson of Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) in Mpumalanga and served as a member of the National Executive Committee Member of NEHAWU.

He was elected as a part time ward counsellor in the Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality in 2011 following the local government elections.

He was appointed Member of the Executive Council by the Hon Premier Refiloe Mtshweni on 20 March 2018.
