A. The department facilitates support and development for business enterprises.

A. The department does offer financial and non financial assistance through Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA) and other development and financial institutions

Q. How does the department help aspiring and emerging entrepreneurs?
A. The department helps the aspiring entrepreneurs to start their own business. The department offers support services such as facilitating business registering, assistance to develop a business plan etc. The department also helps emerging entrepreneurs to develop their product/service and market for export.

Q. What does the department do for cooperatives?
A. The department helps them to register their business, drive their awareness campaign and monitor for compliance with the Act. The department coordinates all the work of cooperative in the province.

Q. Where to get funds for SMME?
A. Please contact the department and other provincial agencies such as MEGA, MADC, SEDA etc

Q. I have a product/service but no market?
A. Small Economic Development Agency (SEDA) assists entrepreneurs to identify the market for their products.

Q. What are consumer rights?
A. We all have right to be satisfied with the services and products that we purchase. We have the right to safety, right to be informed, right to choose, right to be heard, right to redress, right to consumer education, right to a healthy an sustainable environment.

Q. Who to contact when a consumer is unfairly treated by the retailers?
A. Please contact consumer protection office on 013 752 3761/3774 and ask to speak to the investigator.

Q. What is the department doing about the safety of the tourist in the province?
A. The department is finalizing the Tourism Safety Strategy for the province.

Q. What is EIA?
A. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a systematic process which is used to identify potential positive and negative impacts on the environment.

Q. How long does it take for an EIA application to be authorized
A. IIt depends on the activity applied for; there are two processes (Basic Assessment process and Scoping/EIA process) with different time frames which are outlined in the EIA Regulations
