Contract lifts Mpumalanga tourism sky up
The province should look forward to increased inflow of leisure tourists
following the signing of a tourism airlift contract between Mpumalanga
Tourism and Park Agency and ComAir at the Tourism Indaba yesterday.
The Airlift Capacity contract is set to create better market access of
international leisure tourism into the Province.
In terms of the contract ComAir will target the leisure market and make
it easier for international and domestic leisure visitors to visit the
province as soon as they touch down at the international airports.
Announcing the contract last night, the Chief Executive Officer of MTPA,
Mr. Charles Ndabeni said the contract will surely improve the number of
visitors to the province, thus making significant impact on tourism
growth.
Meanwhile, the Head of Department, Mandla Mazibuko - in a prepared
speech - emphasized a need for greater partnership between Government
and organized private sector to boost tourism growth.
“We are very excited about this contract that MTPA has signed because it
signifies a change that many of our people want to see in the tourism
industry.
“The outcome of this partnership and collaboration should contribute
towards an Industry that will grow, that will attract investment, that
will protect the environment and that will ensure that communities will
ultimately benefit,” said Mazibuko.
