CoGTA to hold Mandela Day celebration in Nkomazi Local Municipality
In celebrating former President Nelson Mandela’s life
and in response to a global call of action for people to dedicate 67 minutes
of their time to service communities the Department of Co-operative
Governance and Traditional Affairs will celebrate Nelson Mandela
International Day on 19 July 2013 at Mbuzini Community Hall in Nkomazi Local
Municipality.
Deputy Minister of Higher Education Mduduzi Manana, MEC SPD Skhosana, the Executive Mayor of Nkomazi , Cllr Zitha of Ward 13 Mbuzini together with officials from the department and the municipality will renovate the Ndindindi Primary School, engage in a cleaning campaign, plant seedlings for the agricultural garden for people living with disabilities in Ward 13 and hand out food parcels at KaMhlushwa to the pensioners.
On this day other government services will be provided
by the department of Health, department of Agriculture, Department of
Economic Development and Tourism (DEDET), Department of Labour, South
African Police Services (SAPS), Home Affairs, Social Development, South
African Social Security Agency (SASSA) and Nkomazi Local Municipality to the
communities.
Deputy Minister Manana, MEC Skhosana and Executive Mayor Khoza will also engage in door-to-door campaign in Ward 13.
