The Early Childhood Development Summit

The Mpumalanga Departments of Education, Health and Social Development in collaboration with other stakeholders will convene an Early Childhood Development Summit on 06 and 07 June 2012 at Ingwenyama Lodge, Mbombela Municipality.
The summit seeks to take stock of progress made on Early Childhood Development delivery in Mpumalanga and promote provisioning of quality ECD services for children from 0 to 6 years old.
It will also provide a platform for participants to share lessons, experiences and to improve the cooperation between governments, non-governmental organizations and private sectors’ involvement in promoting quality provision of ECD programmes.
A consolidated and integrated programme of action for the province will be developed based on the recommendations of this summit.
Early Childhood Development plays an important role in building a strong foundation for learning for children.
The Premier for Mpumalanga Mr. David Mabuza will deliver the Keynote address.
The MEC for Education and the MEC for Health and Social Development will grace the event.
