Public engagement on higher education and training in Mpumalanga

The Ministry of Higher Education and Training will host a Public
Participation event to engage with the stakeholders in Mpumalanga on the
education and training needs of the province.
The event is part of a renewed effort by government to promote
engagement between public representatives and communities. Among the issues to
be discussed are questions raised via the Presidential Hotline and a progress
report on the establishment of a tertiary institution in the province of
Mpumalanga.
The event will be attended by Higher Education and Training Minister Dr
Blade Nzimande, Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza and Education MEC Reginah Mhaule.
Representatives of various political parties, existing institutions of learning,
non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community organisations are expected
to attend.
Date: Wednesday, 25 November 2009
Minister Nzimande will visit the Mpondozankomo Further Education and
Training (FET) College at Emalahleni at 10h00 before the main event at the
Emalahleni Civic Centre at 12h00.
