Welcome to the Mpumalanga Provincial Government

Department hands over title deeds to beneficiaries

25 October 2010

Beneficiaries of government low-cost houses will have their dignity restored as they become official owners of their properties. This as the Mpumalanga Department of Human Settlements will hand over title deeds to about 400 beneficiaries of Umjindi Local Municipality. MEC Madala Masuku and Mayor Richard Lukhele will visit projects, interact with the community and hand over the title deeds to the residents as part of government’s commitment to improved service delivery.

All the homes built for needy communities have a significant bearing on the socio-economic element and brings hope to communities. The Department of Human Settlements continues to hand over title deeds in the province. A title deed is a legal document that officially proves or indicates the rightful owner of a piece of land or property in a given area.  Beneficiaries must understand the importance of title deeds as they can be used to borrow money against the title deed or property to improve their lives.

The handing-over title deeds will be rolled out to other municipalities in the province. A complete sense of ownership of property will prevail in the minds of the beneficiaries.  The Department is taking part in the events such as the one in Umjindi where the MEC Masuku and Executive Mayor Lukhele will hand over the title deeds to the beneficiaries.  The event is scheduled as follows:
