The Mpumalanga Executive Council (Exco) will be visiting Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality from 6 to 7 April 2011, as part of its Cabinet Outreach Programme.

The Exco will begin with its normal sitting, visit government community projects to launch and check progress made, distribute services including food parcels to vulnerable communities as a drive of War on Poverty Campaign, and visit the police stations as part of government’s efforts to turn the tide against crime.

Details of the event:

Date: 6 – 7 April 2011
Time: 08h00 to 18h00
Venue: Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality

This is part of the government’s public participation programme to strengthen community participation and decision-making through interacting with various communities in Mpumalanga, to discuss wide-ranging issues of service delivery. Government gets the opportunity to communicate its Programme of Action, plans and discuss possible solutions directly with the communities whilst the community members get the opportunity to hold government accountable by raising concerns, making suggestions as way of influencing and suggesting the pace and form of service delivery.

Members of the Executive Council will be addressing the community meeting to provide feedback and interact with the communities on any service delivery issue.
