Premier Mabuza to hand over five houses to needy beneficiaries in Perdekop

Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza will hand over five houses to four destitute families around Perdekop near Volkrust.
The houses were built by kind business people who were willing to assist the Premier to speedily change the lives of the needy by providing them with shelter.

The Premier visited the area last month during the Cabinet Outreach programme and subsequently identified a family to benefit a sponsored house.

A local contractor offered to build a four-roomed house for the destitute twins who were living in a rented shack. The house has been furniture with sofas, beds and a stove.

The same contractor advised the Premier that, another local business man in the area had commissioned the construction of a house as part of his social responsibility, but sadly passed on before the completed house was handed over to the beneficiary.

The contractor subsequently donated the house to government and has asked the Premier to officially hand it over to the identified beneficiary.

The other two houses were built by a Witbank-based business man after a television news broadcaster exposed the plight of an elderly woman living in a nearby farm with eight grandchildren.

The Department of Human Settlement also contributed another house to assist the same granny accommodate her grandchildren.

The fifth house belongs to an RDP beneficiary whose house was to be constructed next to the bridge, and after realising that she would have problems with water from the bridge, she was relocated to become a neighbour of the above other beneficiaries.

All houses will be handed over at a ceremony arranged as follows:
