Official handover of a house and Inqubeko Secondary School

10 September 2012

The Mpumalanga Premier, Mr. DD Mabuza will officially handover a house to Gogo Mbele as well as Inqubeko Secondary School to the community of Mkhondo on 13 September 2012.

The handing over of the house to Gogo Mbele’s family in KaMadabukela comes after the Executive Council’s visit to Mkhondo Municipality where it was discovered that the family was living below the bread line and under a three room-mud structure which was unsafe.

It was after this discovery that the MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport; Ms Dikeledi Mahlangu led a process to construct a brick and mortar fully furnished house for Gogo Mbele.

It is a complete and fully-fledged Secondary School with 28 classrooms, an admin block, science laboratory, computer centre and a library. It also boasts a huge multi purpose hall, soccer field and two netball courts.

There are 25 fully functional laptop computers donated by Samsung through the initiative of the Honourable Premier; Mr. DD Mabuza.

The learner enrolment stands at 1187, with 33 post level 1 educators, 3 HOD’s,    2 Deputy Principals and a Principal.

Shutter and Shooter has also donated books to the school library.

The MEC for Education, Mrs Reginah Mhaule, and the MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport; Mrs Dikeledi Mahlangu, the Executive Mayor of Gert Sibande District Municipality; Cllr MPP Nhlabathi and Mkhondo Local Municipality Mayor; Cllr B Mtshali will grace the occasion.
