Premier Mabuza visits the trouble-torn Mayflower Village

Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza will, on Thursday, 14 March 2013, honour his promise to visit Mayflower village in Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality as part of government efforts to redress the challenges faced by the violence stricken area.
The meeting follows on the face to face discussion which the Premier Mabuza had with the protesters and their leadership after a violent protest which left the whole municipal offices, towing truck, water tanker, grader and municipal van burnt down. After chastising the protesters Premier promised to come back to provide feedback on their complaints that included lack of consultation between councilors and the community, nepotism, non delivery of the promised mall and the non delivery of basic services such as water, roads and clinic.
