Premier Mabuza to hand-over 20 MTN sponsored houses in Nkangala region

22 January 2013

Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza has dedicated two days to hand-over 20 houses to the needy, elderly and those disadvantaged by processes in getting government houses.

This is Premier Mabuza’s personal initiative themed “Kancane Kancane Changing the Lives of the People for the Better Legacy Project” where he does not only touch the lives, but change them for the better when he gives people homes with furniture, water and electricity for free.

The project which started in July last year [2012] has thus far achieved 147 luxurious and up-market houses with the help of the private sector supporting the Premier financially. The Premier now targets to have built 1000 houses by the end of July this year.

The 20 houses have been supported finally by South Africa-based multi-national mobile telecommunications company which operates largely in many African countries. MTN also participated in the identification of the beneficiaries.

This week’s hand over ceremonies will take place on Thursday and Friday in the Thembisile Hani and Dr J S Moroka Municipalities respectively.
