28 May 2013

Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza will this week witness and appreciate an innovation by a Secunda-based company, Hydra-Arc, which will not only benefit the province’s economy but the whole country.

Hydra-Arc is one of the smaller welding companies in Mpumalanga which had been contracted by the country’s integrated mining, gas, oil and chemicals company, Sasol, to fabricate and deliver six high pressure vessels.

This week Premier Mabuza will participate at the releasing of one of the vessels to Sasol, which is confirmed to have saved billions of Rands and which could have been spent offshore.

The Premier is expected not only to applaud the local innovation but appreciate the partnership between the two companies that it was yielding intended results by the provincial government as the vessels are manufactured by the people from Mpumalanga.

The company currently has 800 people in its employ including deaf artisans and intends to employ the further 450 workers.

The event is scheduled as follows:
  • Date: Thursday, 30 May 2013
  • Time: 08h30
  • Venue: Hydra-Arc premises, Along the Trichard Road [Between Secunda and Evander]

The media is invited.
