Welcome to the Mpumalanga Provincial Government

Department to conduct a rest stop in Bushbuckridge

3 October 2012

The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison in Mpumalanga will conduct a rest stop at Thulamahashe on Thursday, 4

October 2012. This initiative is aimed at encouraging drivers, particularly taxi drivers, to rest every two hours as fatigue has been detected as one of the main causes of accidents.

It is widely known that many people have lost their lives due to drivers who persist driving even if they really feel that they are tired and it is not safe to continue travelling.

It is therefore against this background that the department puts more efforts in eradicating unnecessary accidents on our roads.

The rest stop will be led by the Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe and it will be held as follows:

  • Date: Thursday, 4 October 2012
  • Time: 10h00
  • Venue: Dwarsloop near Total filling station

Members of the media are invited.
