MEC Manana hosts 2008/09 Excellence Awards for the police

Mpumalanga Safety, Security and Liaison MEC, Ms
Sibongile Manana, will present awards to the best performing police stations and
managers in the province.
The awards are meant to acknowledge the stations that are
performing exceptionally well and assist those that are not doing well in
rendering police service.
Mpumalanga boasts 85 police stations which will be judged
according to the following categories:
- Best performing station managed by Captain to
Superintendent
- Best station managed by Senior Superintendent and
higher
- Best station managed by female commissioner
- Station with best functioning Community Policing
Forum (CPF)
- Best overall station in the province.
The stations were evaluated by the Department of Safety, Security and Liaison in consultation with CPF Provincial Board and
Independent Complaints Directorate (ICD).
The awards giving ceremony will be held as follows:
