Minister Gugile Nkwinti to watch Bafana Bafana versus France World Cup game at Mkhondo, Mpumalanga Province

The Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, Mr Gugile Nkwinti, together with Mpumalanga Provincial Government and local leadership, will on Tuesday, 22 June 2010, join the community to view the Bafana Bafana World Cup game at the Village Viewing Area (VVA) at Mkhondo, Mpumalanga. The VVA is in line with the Department’s Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP) and is part of its efforts to bring the prestigious tournament to rural areas across the country.

A soccer clinic will also be held in the morning, during which the minister and his entourage are expected to impart soccer skills to youngsters from the area.

Rural development is one of the top five key priorities of government and is aimed at ensuring radical transformation in rural communities throughout the country. The ultimate goal of the CRDP is to see sustainable, equitable and vibrant rural communities that are characterised by social cohesion.
