MPUMALANGA PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT INTENSIFIES THE VOOMA VACCINATION CAMPAIGN IN THE NKANGALA DISTRICT THIS WEEKEND

02 December 2021

The Mpumalanga Provincial Government is pulling all stops to intensify the campaign for the vaccination of citizens against Covid-19, with the looming fourth wave. Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane will lead a massive campaign, accompanied by Members of the Executive Council (MECs), Executive Mayors, Traditional Leaders and members of the Civil Society, to the local municipalities in the Nkangala District to mobilize citizens to take the vaccine.

Although Mpumalanga has reached over a 1 million mark of vaccinated people, however, the Nkangala District has recorded low numbers at 29 percent, compared to 45 percent and 36 percent of Ehlanzeni and Gert Sibande respectively. Through the Vooma vaccination weekend campaign, scheduled for this weekend, the Premier is optimistic that more citizens will seize the opportunity to vaccinate.

The delegation is expected to conduct door-to-door visits and walkabouts in the streets to interact with the citizens in an effort to inspire them to vaccinate. Vaccination sites will be set up in the following areas from 09h00:
