PREMIER MTSHWENI-TSIPANE AND EXCO MEMBERS TO UNDERTAKE SERVICE DELIVERY OVERSIGHT TO DR JS MOROKA MUNICIPALITY

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane and Members of the Executive Council will next week undertake a three-day service delivery outreach programme in Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality in the Nkangala District Municipality. The programme is aimed at addressing service delivery challenges raised by communities for the government’s attention.
The Premier and the Executive Council will engage the communities, visit various service delivery projects and hold Premier’s Imbizo as part of the provincial government’s public participation programme.
Dr JS Moroka Municipality is a rural municipality situated within the Nkangala District in the north-western part of the Mpumalanga Province and is affected by, amongst others, high levels of unemployment, water shortages and housing backlog. The Mpumalanga Provincial Government is expected to respond to the challenges through various major projects and will utilize the outreach programme to assess progress in relation to service delivery.
The outreach programme will commence on Wednesday, 14th of September 2022 until the 16th of September 2022, with the Premier’s Imbizo Day on the last day.
The outreach programme is arranged as follows:
- Day 1 – Project visits and Stakeholder Engagements (Wednesday 09h00 – 19h00)
- Day 2 – Governance Day (Thursday)
- Day 3 – Premier’s Imbizo Day Senotlelo village ( Friday 11h00 – 16h00)
