OTP, PT AND LEGISLATURE TO TABLE BUDGET VOTE SPEECHES

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Mr Vusi Mkhatshwa and Speaker of the Legislature, Ms Makhosazane Masilela will on Tuesday, 14 June 2022 table budget vote speeches. Tabling of budget speeches are designed to provide progress on the implementation of plans for the previous financial year and to table new plans and budget allocations by public institutions.

Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane’s budget vote speech is expected to focus on, among others, the disbursement of funds from the Mpumalanga Youth Development Fund, measures to reinforce the fight against Gender Based Violence & Femicide and the advancement of the ethical culture in the Provincial Government.

MEC Mkhatshwa’s budget vote speech is expected to focus on overall budget management, plans to improve business processes, and support to entrench financial governance in the public institutions.

Speaker Masilela’s budget speech is expected to focus on measures to advance public participation as a Constitutional requirement and strengthen oversight function.
