PREMIER MTSHWENI-TSIPANE TO VISIT A YOUTH-OWNED POULTRY FARM BENEFITIATED FROM THE MYDF

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane will tomorrow visit a youth-owned Lungile Poultry Farm Project in Waterval in the Dr JS Moroka Municipality as part of the three day Executive Council Outreach Programme. Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane will tour the farm in accordance with the EXCO programme of project visits. The Mpumalanga Youth Development Fund (MYDF) was established by the Provincial Government as a measure to support youth enterprises to confront the high unemployment rate.

The Poultry Farm is a 100 percent youth-owned company led by a 29-year female, Ms Lungile Mkhize from Siyabuswa. It is an egg production and chicken broiler, established in 2018. It is among the 60 companies whose application was approved for the grant funding from the MYDF, of which part of it, was utilized for capital expenditure, focusing on the construction of chicken houses, electric fencing, water reservoir, renovations of existing infrastructure and electricity connection.

Upon completion, the project will create eighteen (18) jobs. The Premier will be accompanied by Executive Mayors, the Director General, Mr Makhukhu Mampuru and senior government officials during the visit.
