Mpumalanga Premier to lead a delegation on a visit to Ndebele iconic artist, Esther Mahlangu

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane is to lead a delegation of MECs and Local Government leaders on a visit to the homestead of Ndebele iconic artist, Dr Esther Mahlangu.

The visit follows a case of robbery in Mahlangu’s residence in which she was attacked over the weekend. The Premier will be accompanied by MEC Vusi Shongwe of the Department of Community Safety and Liaison (DCSSL), MEC Thandi Shongwe of Culture, Sports and Recreation (DCSR) and senior officials of the South African Police Services (SAPS) in Mpumalanga.

Premier Mtshweni-Tsipane condemned the robbery act. She expressed confidence in the capacity and expertise of the law enforcement agencies to arrest the criminals. She says communities are key in the fight against crime, and urged them to cooperate with the police by sharing information that will lead to the arrest of the criminals. She appealed to anyone with information to contact the local police.
