PREMIER MTSHWENI-TSIPANE LEADS A DELEGATION TO THE UN CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE IN DUBAI

The Premier of Mpumalanga Province, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane will lead the Mpumalanga delegation to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) from the 1st to the 8th of December 2023.
The COP28 conference will be convened in the United Arab Emirates. Delegates at the conference will deliberate extensively on measures that must be adopted to address the climate crisis through, amongst others, decreasing the reliance on fossil fuels. The conference will also outline strategies that will enable the Province to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
The Premier has appointed the MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison in Mpumalanga, Mr Vusi Shongwe as Acting Premier from the 30st of November 2023 until Friday the 8th of December 2023.
