PREMIER MTSHWENI-TSIPANE TO HAND OVER A STATE OF THE ART GRAIN MILLING PROJECT TO THEMBISILE HANI MUNICIPALITY'S FARMERS

Mpumalanga Premier Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane will next week hand over a state of the art grain milling project to the farmers in Thembisile Hani Local Municipality. Accompanied by MEC for Agriculture, Rural Development and Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA), Ms Busi Shiba, Mtshweni-Tsipane will hand over the Iphakeme Grain Milling Project to the farmers.

Agriculture is one of the cornestone of the economy that contributes significantly to job creation initiatives in Mpumalanga. The installation of the Maize sweeper is an intervention measure to support the group of farmers, to achieve the aspiration of job creation and economic growth.

The group of farmers in Thembisile Hani Local Municipality applied for the project from the National Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development. It is situated in Portion 26 Klipspruit 453 JR farm, and produces 3 tons per hour of first grade mealie meal and other types of milling products such as mealie rice, samp, and sorghum meal.
