Welcome to the Mpumalanga Provincial Government

PREMIER MTSHWENI-TSIPANE TO HANDOVER TOOLS OF TRADE TO THE NDEBELE KINGDOM

15 January 2024

Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane will tomorrow handover a package of support measures to King Makhosoke II of the Ndebele nation. The Premier will hand over three (3) vehicles as tools of trade, in line with the Provincial Government’s commitment to support the institution of traditional leaders.

Government views traditional leaders as key stakeholders for the development of communities in rural communities. Their credible voice of articulating the socio-economic challenges faced by the communities and their proposed solutions, play a major part in government’s implementation of economic intervention programmes. These include the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP), aimed at improving the quality of life.

The provision of such resources is a significant step towards strengthening the role of the institution of traditional leaders in the province, and seeks to enhance their support to serve communities within their jurisdiction effectively.

MEC Mandla Msibi of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Kgoshi Lameck Mokoena of the Provincial House of Traditional and Khoi-san Leaders and Executive Mayors, will attend the function, scheduled as follows:

Date: Tuesday, 16 January 2024
Venue: Manala Mbhongo Royal Kraal, Klipfontein (Thembisile Hani Local Municipality)
