PREMIER NDLOVU TO PARTICIPATE AT A POST BUDGET BUSINESS STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT SESSION

18 March 2025

The Mpumalanga Premier, Mr Mandla Ndlovu will on Wednesday participate at a post-Provincial Budget stakeholder engagement session to unpack and reflect on the implications of the budget to be presented by Finance MEC, Mr Bonakele Majuba on Tuesday.

Premier Ndlovu has set targets aimed at reducing the high unemployment rate, currently at 34.7 percent, and the rate of poverty, which is above 50 percent. The targets are in line with the apex priorities of the 7th administration, of driving inclusive growth and job creation, reducing poverty and the high cost of living, as well as building a capable, ethical and developmental state.

The Premier will provide more details during the breakfast session, on the Mpumalanga Provincial Government’s fiscal priorities and their bearing on the deployment and allocation of resources, whilst mobilising private sector funding for social protection programmes, amid the high inflation and cost of living.

The business breakfast will be held in a round table format and the participants will share inputs on policy priorities and provincial budgets for the 2025/2026 financial year.

The stakeholder engagement will be hosted by the Provincial Government in partnership with Standard Bank and has been planned as follows;
